Privacy Policy

Salah Stars is a prayer-tracking app for children, built so families can follow the five daily prayers together. This page explains what information the app handles and how it's used.

Information stored only on your device

Most of the app works entirely offline. The following is stored locally on the device and is never sent anywhere unless you turn on Prayer Circle (see below):

• The name your child enters during setup
• Daily prayer completion records, streaks, badges, and XP
• App preferences — theme, selected island/prayer-time location, reminder and sound settings
• The optional parent code, if a parent sets one

This data stays on the device, is excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, and is removed if the app is uninstalled. We do not have access to it.

Prayer Circle (optional shared leaderboard)

A parent can optionally create or join a "Prayer Circle" from Settings to compare prayers with family or friends on other devices. Turning this on:

• Signs the device in anonymously (no email, phone number, or password — just a random identifier assigned by Firebase Authentication)
• Sends the child's entered name and prayer stats (weekly prayer count, streak, badges) to our Firebase (Google Cloud) database
• Stores the Circle's name and invite code, as chosen by the parent who created it
• Shares the child's name and stats with members of that Circle — that is, devices whose parent entered its invite code

This is off by default, and creating or joining a Circle is behind the parent check in the Parent Dashboard. Tapping "Leave Circle" deletes that device's row from the shared database straight away; when the last member leaves, the Circle itself and its invite code are deleted too. To request deletion of any other data associated with your device, contact us using the email below.

Notifications

If prayer reminders are turned on, the app schedules notifications locally on the device using the selected island's prayer times. No data is sent anywhere for this feature.

Crash reports

If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, technical details (what failed, the device model, OS version, app version, and a random Crashlytics installation identifier used to group reports from the same install) are sent to Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix the problem. This never includes the child's name, prayer history, or anything typed into the app, and it isn't linked to any advertising identifier. Crash reports are kept for 90 days.

What we don't do

• No advertising and no ad networks
• No behavioral tracking or usage analytics
• We never sell or share data with third parties for marketing
• No access to contacts, location, camera, microphone, or photos — prayer times come from the island you pick, not GPS
• No use of the Android advertising ID

Children's privacy

Salah Stars is designed for children. The only information collected — a name the family chooses to enter and in-app prayer activity — is not verified identity information, and no data is used for advertising or behavioral profiling of any kind.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change. Any material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
